Atlanta’s Haven

for the Haunted Reader

The Grim Reader Bookshop is a love letter to the school book fair, reborn for adults and steeped in the strange. From our mobile hearse bookshop to our new storefront (coming soon), we bring horror, dark fantasy, and beautifully weird books to readers who like their stories a little unhinged.

No matter if you step inside our brick-and-mortar shop or find us parked curbside in the hearse, you’ll discover strange tales, dark magic, and that same electric thrill of picking the perfect book.

Something Wicked is Coming to West Atlanta…

The Grim Reader Bookshop is opening its first brick-and-mortar home in Blandtown, bringing strange stories and dark delights to the neighborhood.

This storefront is for curious wanderers, longtime locals, and anyone chasing that thrill of connecting with the community of weirdos (complimentary) that haunts the city streets.

More info coming soon.

About the hearse

She once carried the dead. Now she carries stories. Winnie is a 2004 Cadillac DeVille hearse and a local Atlanta lady. Decommissioned from service in Villa Rica, she has been reborn as a mobile shrine to the macabre. Named after the Winchester from Shaun of the Dead, a nod to the classics, Winnie is more than just a vehicle. She is a rolling crypt of strange tales, shadowy characters, and the kind of magic you only find between pages.
